DVD-derived video can use non-square pixels and interlaced scanning, so stored raster dimensions alone may not describe how the video should be displayed.

The current eligibility logic can use explicit display geometry for MP4/MOV and committed legacy mappings for common SD dimensions such as 720×480 and 720×576 when more explicit geometry is unavailable.

3. Preprocess then upscale
The current workflow performs a HandBrake preprocessing pass before AI super-resolution.
4:3 and 16:9 targets
Supported 4:3 SD sources target 1440×1080; supported 16:9 SD sources target 1920×1080.
